October 1st

Hello. It’s the first day of October and this is The Daily Bone. I’m your humble doggie host
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It's been warm and summery for the past week, with bright blue skies and cool starry nights. Leaves were starting to turn colors and fall to the ground. We spent hours out in the back yard, enjoying the warm sun, like my comfortable colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel is doing in this photo below.

The sun went down last night without much drama.

Our ghostwriter, who is getting to be known as the crazy lady who takes pictures of the ground, and the sky, and bugs, and things, took this series of the spider in the bushes in front of our house.

Bu-waaaa! An alien space spider is descending and is going to attack the house!

A rumbling thunder storm rolled in just after dark. Guess who was standing at the back door with the lights turned off and her camera aimed at the dark sky? (She’s been trying for months to get a picture of a lightning bolt!)

It wasn’t actually a very scary storm, and the worst of it passed us to the south. By the time we went to bed, it was only raining gently. It was a perfect night for sleeping!

Alas, this morning it was damp and cool. Everything was dripping with dew. There was no wind and the sky was overcast and gray. Well, I guess Autumn weather is finally here.

And you know that scary spider? This is the beautiful web she made during the night.

Yes, fall is here and we know that means the snow will soon be up to our waists or worse...if the dire predictions are like what we have been hearing...sigh...
