Good morning friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your trustworthy doggie commentator Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. 

It's a beautiful, sultry summer day with big puffy clouds in the sky! 

Ghostwriter put some fresh seeds in the birdie feeder. The Evil Squirrel Cartel didn't waste any time discovering this new bounty and showed up less than an hour later! 

Look at him stuffing his face with birdie seeds! 

There goes my energetic associate zooming after that thieving tree rat! 

He chased the scurrilous scoundrel up the silver maple tree! 

Moving on with our report, we have a new crop of mini sunflowers blooming underneath the window birdie feeder. 

Chester will be paying special attention to these. As you recall, those reprehensible squirrels have been carrying out a cruel series of sunflower beheadings. 

Those pusillanimous pilferers also helped themselves to a few yummy pears.

They pick out the nicest ones, then only eat half and leave the rest to rot!

As you know, I never let a good pear go to waste! It was delicious, but still quite hard.

This puts us into a tough position. The pears are not quite ripe yet, so we don't want to pick them. At the same time we don't want the squirrels to take them.

The Double Doggie Homeland Security System may need to be assigned to continuous guard duty.

I think it's going to be a long day!
