Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your cheerful doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
On Christmas Eve ghostwriter drove down the NYS Thruway from Henrietta to Tonawanda to pick up our Oma from the nursing home.
She was very worried that it would start to snow again. But the Thruway was in good shape. It was actually quite picturesque with snow on the trees.
It was very nice to see Oma on Christmas. We had a good conversation. I followed her all around and made sure I was underfoot at all times.
We asked her what she wanted for Christmas Eve dinner. How about roast beef? No. Turkey or maybe fish? Nope. How about ham and scalloped potatoes? No. Kentucky Fried chicken? Nein! She wanted pork roast with sauerkraut. We fancied it up by adding some onions, apples, cloves, and brown sugar, and let it cook all day in the crock pot. It was fall-apart tender and very yummy indeed!
Looks like a pawsome visit with Oma. Being underfoot is helpful.
ReplyDeleteWe had pork roast too and your cookies look sooo yummy! What a wonderful Christmas for Oma and all of you!

ReplyDeleteI think it is so awesome that ghostwriter did that for Oma. One act of kindness means so much to people who live in nursing homes. Bless you and your family

Sauerkraut on a cold day sounds perfect to us. Lee always puts an apple in when cooking they say it helps with the acidity level and stops the bloat afterwards. The stolen bread looks delicious why toast a little and have for breakfast that is what we do. Happy faces all around the perfect Christmas. I noticed your ceramic Christmas tree and village up high. Is that a Lefton Village?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Chester L. W.
