The First Day Of The Year

Greetings friends and fans, and Happy New Year! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your dazzled doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

As you can see, we have no snow right now.

It's fairly warm, and the bright sun is making me squint.

Oh, and there's lots of mud!

But that's OK after several days of gloomy, cloudy weather.

Ghostwriter had to work last night, and got home just in time to watch the countdown to the new year. And then we all went to sleep!

So we're just having a quiet day at home today. I just have a few odds and ends to report now.

Ghostwriter got some funeral flowers last night. The local funeral homes often bring their extra or unwanted flower arrangements to the nursing home where ghostwriter works. The residents then take the arrangements apart and make new ones to put on their dinner tables and around the place. It's actually one of their favorite activities, even though it might seem a bit morbid at first. (Gee, I wonder who died?) Well, several arrangements arrived last evening and nobody had time to rearrange them yet. So ghostwriter took a few flowers home with her. Don't worry, there are lots left for the little old ladies to work with today!

In other news, I found a few snowman (aka snowfreak) comics for my friends frankie and Ernie.

Brewster Rockit*

The Barn

Dad's multi-tasking today. He's watching football on TV, while working on his ancestry stuff on his laptop. (See me sleeping on the couch on the right?)

His favorite team is the Buffalo Bills, even though they're not the winning-est team!

I peeked out the window once in a while.

But there were no signs of the Evil Squirrel Cartel. I wonder what they're up to?

Moving on, here's a picture of the Moon and Venus. It's been a long time since we've seen a clear sky, at least when ghostwriter has been home to take pictures. This picture was taken just after the sun went down. I've got till 8:25pm to have a talk with my dearest Princess Leah. I hope she's looking at the moon where she is.

Later, we decided to watch some funny videos. This one is ghostwriter's favorite:

If you have more time, check out this longer version too:

You know, I still have some studying to do for my final exams from the Blogville Police Department. Wow, I  hope I pass. This instructional video has taught me how to recognize some classic thug behavior. I'm pretty sure I've got this down, though.

Yo. Bring it on!

*Ghostwriter likes this Brewster Rockit comic she just discovered. Check out his space ship:

  8. Nice idea for the flowers. They will brighten the days of the residents. Better get your uniform on and head over to the inauguration cuz they're short pawed.
