Greetings fellow doggies. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your proficient doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
As you doggies know, the Evil Squirrel Cartel is always up to no good. However, since we've had such a mild winter around here so far, I really haven't seen very much of them.
Besides, I think one of our neighbors is feeding them. Ghostwriter found another half-chewed up pizza crust in the yard.
Can you imagine that???
So I decided to put up a few of my favorite squirrel comics for your amusement …
Dogs of C-Kennel
Ziggy
… or indignation!
The Other coast
In other news, as you can see, we've had a bit of snow. It's supposed to snow all week.
I would like it if we had lots and lots of snow, like the legendary Blizzard of '77 which ghostwriter remembers vividly. (Don't tell her it was 40 years ago!)
Well, maybe not THAT much snow. But I'd love to see this happen:

Bwahahahahahaha!
If you want to know more about the Blizzard of '77 in Western NY, please check out this video. Ghostwriter remembers how odd it was to have a blizzard with thunder and lightning too.
OMD OMD we gotta say... OUR mom and dad both remember the winter of 76/77... VIVIDLY... it was HORRID... FRIGID temps fur WEEKS and OH the SNOW... OH the SNOW... We hear that during the Blizzard... they were snowed in and in OHIO only Emergency and Medical Peeps were allowed to be on the roads for 4 days and nights... NO SCHOOL fur DAYS and DAYS...
ReplyDeleteWe hope to NEVER go through anythingy like THAT.
OH we furgot to tell you this... last weekend it was 60° and THIS weekend only in the 20's.. with SNOW... LOTS of it... Today alone there were 4.5 inches MORE... on top of the 6 we already HAD on the ground. We would be very much HAPPY to send it ALL your way, Chester.

Woos - Lightning and Misty
Squirrel humor is always in season! I guess it never gets cold enough here to rid us of our squirrels but Pierre would be sad if he didn't have them to chase each day. How can 1977 be 40 years ago?!? Dang, I am OLD!
ReplyDeleteOMD, when ma was a wee lass, there was SNOW here!!!! (it was 1976..yes, she is THAT old! ☺) Nows, it almost NEVER snows here on the valley floor, so when it does, it's a big event! I hopes you guys don't gets THAT much snows, butts I hopes you gets at least a half a foot or so, just enough to do some good snow zoomies!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and tree rats are a year round thingie here....though NOBODY gives them foodables! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

Pizza to the squirrels? We need to move to your neighborhood, Chester!
ReplyDeleteWe have very naughty squirrels we haven't seen much of but they must be the ones who got into our recycling! Our aunt and uncle feed them and they have HUGE ones.
ReplyDeleteOh my dogness! That was quite the blizzard! Personally I think you should be getting the pizza and not those tree rats!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of pizza was it? We like salami pizza. Or a mozzarella one. Ooh, drooling now.
ReplyDeleteMara and Brom from Norway
That's the year Mom graduated from High School. Mom's OLD! Love the snow pictures and glad Mom was out on the West coast by the ocean where they cancelled school if they got an inch!

cats keep our squirrels away...dad gets sad...he likes squirrels. stella rose
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics of you today! Great comics too. That blizzard was scary!
ReplyDeleteThat blizzard was in the Totonto area too...and our home was like a hotel for some peeps that my auntie was working with bwcauae they could not use the roads to get home which was about 15 miles from there. The Canadian equivalent of the national guard in London Ontario was used to bring peeps to the hospital where petcretary was working...but once they were there they stayed until things were passable. One section of the facility became like a hotel. It sure was an awful winter. Hope we nevfur endure one like that again...
ReplyDeleteWe have a bit more snow on the ground than you have there, Chester...and a bit more coming the next couple of days...then it going to be sunny!! Sun?? I forget what that is. Sheesh!
A red squirrel is trying to figure out how to steal the seeds from our squirrel resistant feeders...so far there is enough seed spilled on the ground to keep it happy...but then?? OMD!!! If I see it I will be a ballistic pup!
