Hello ladies and gentlemen, doggies and kitties, and other lovable life forms. This is The Daily Bone with a Western NY weather update. I'm your chilly doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Today the winds have changed. Now we're having something called snow squalls. These are sudden, brief, intense, periods of snow fall accompanied by high winds.
Here come the snow clouds! See the snow falling from them already? |
Then it snows and blows like crazy for twenty minutes! |
Then it's all done, until the next squall hits. |
If nothing else, the winter weather here is always interesting.
The high winds knocked a big branch off the tree. I helped to pick it up.
Don't worry, I'll break it down into smaller pieces! |
See? I snapped off the end. |
Hey! I wasn't finished with that! |
When I went inside, I found a few funny snow-related comics:
I hope you're keeping warm wherever you are!
Oh, and I have an update on our dear Oma who's in the hospital after she fell and hit her head Friday morning. She's still doing OK. Ghostwriter is driving to Niagara Falls tomorrow morning to see if the doctors will let Oma go home yet.
In the meantime, ghostwriter's not going anywhere!
Good night.
Take care in that snow my darling Chester.
ReplyDeleteI haf my paws crossed for Oma, drive carefully Ghostwriter

PeeS Is that the moon...oh, oh, ring, ring.......
Snow squalls don't dump the snow that you need to play in, do they, Chester. Our paws are crossed that Oma can come home.
ReplyDeleteGlad your Oma is doing fine for now.
ReplyDeleteLove the funnies and I think you did a great job on helping with the big stick. Did you make those funny faces on the cars as well??

It looks like you had a great time in the snow. Saying a prayer for Oma
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... I missed hearing that your Oma had a fall. I do hope she continues to improve and can go home soon. I love your snow pictures as usual. Mum had a giggle about those cars.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is serious snow. It hardly ever snows here and although it was in the teens two days ago, it is 73° today. YOu stay safe and warm up there, Chester.
ReplyDeleteChester my word you all have some must unusual lake effect weather....squalls are something else. And my word you are working hard to clean up the debris they cause too. Hey did your gal Leah call you on the moon phone? She mentioned you might be available to help me with a tree rat invasion.
ReplyDeleteOh me we do hope Oma can come home I know that will ease GW's mind.
Hugs madi your bfff
I sure hope those snow squalls stop before your GW has to drive...the white outs they make are horrible.
ReplyDeleteIf it would stay really cold for a while, then the lake would get frozen over which would put an end to those lake effect messes...our lake effect comes off of Lake Michigan, but its the same thing...only good thing is that we are mostly at the edges of the streamers filled with all the snow...usually...
Sending pawyers for safety and for your Oma, too!
