Dad's Hitting The Road

Hello everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your patient doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Our Dad is really interested in his ancestry. He's been trying to find and account for all of his relatives from a hundred years ago using the computer. He spends hours poring over pictures of ancient church records and marriage records and such.

Excuse me for yawning. Ghostwriter and I get very bored about this subject. But Dad enjoys it. In fact, he's so determined to find all his dead relatives that he's driving all the way to Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota this week!

It's awfully quiet in the house now. Ghostwriter never watches the TV like Dad does. I guess we'll all catch up on our napping!

But, you know, we'd better be well rested because tonight both Joey dog and I are going to the Blogville Summer Dance with our favorite girls, my dearest Princess Leah, and the lovely Miss Momo. Be sure to check it out at: www.pawprovince.com

See you there!

  5. We had a great time at the dance. It will be interesting to hear how your dad does on his quest if you can stay awake long enough to write about it.

  6. Hope he has fun and finds out some interesting stuff. Momma just found out some more about her ancestry last nite - she's descended (twice) from dis really important family in England from WAY long ago - dey intermarried wif da Boleyns and were advisors to the kings and stuff.

  7. That is really neat. Mom's aunt did that for her family after her husband died. Grandpa, Mom's adopted Dad, is descended from Oliver Cromwell. Mom was always sort of in the dark as she was adopted but she got her birth certificate unsealed and she's related to one of the first settlers in America from England (and is a 5th or 6th cousin to Bill Gates). She always thought she was Irish due to the bright red hair, but her biological father was a Red Haired German with a Jewish grandmother. (her biological parents, when both graduated from high school and college/ respectively, married and had two more children, but they have passed away and her siblings didn't want to meet Mom, wanting to keep it all a secret). She's sad, but she's glad she knows.
