Behind Again!

Hello out there! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your inquisitive doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel. We hope you all had a great Fourth of July celebration!

Our ghostwriter had to work the entire Fourth of July weekend. She asks that all our blogger friends please excuse us if we've gotten behind in reading and commenting on your blogs. We're going to try to catch up today and tomorrow. Then it's back to work on another long stretch for ghostwriter.

Last night, while driving home from work at 11:30PM, ghostwriter saw a big field with lots of bright lights and big machines. They seemed to be harvesting something. But she had never seen harvesting going on in the middle of the night! Today, she happened to have to go back to work for an hour. On her way home, she saw this:

There were about six of these big yellow trucks all traveling down the same road.

She found out that these were pea harvesters! She then remembered, it did kind of smell like fresh peas when she passed those harvesters at work the night before! If you want to know more, there's a link to a video at the bottom of this post that tells all about how the machine works. It even says why ghostwriter saw them working at night!

While ghostwriter was working this weekend, and we doggies stayed home with Dad, our favorite miniature human Ryan did a bit of driving of his own.

Wow!  Look at this big red car!

He got to fly a plane too!

I have no idea what this is, but it looks like fun!

  4. Our petcretary has seen corn being taken at night with huge machines, too.

Our petcretary had the whole weekend off...she is on a vacation until Saturday...so she got to go to our airshow and balloon festival.

She was there 5 out of the six days it was on. So she is behind too...and now she will have to sort through millions of pictures to show them to our blogging pals. Now she knows she will have to work July 4th next year...so she will miss most of that stuff then...BOL!

Those peas were being harvested in farm country in Ontario, Canada!! Our petcretary knows a few farmer families from that area. Don't know what they farm though...

Your Mini Human sure was having tons of fun!

  5. Crikey Ryan was having a great time, aye? Tell ghostwriter not to worry about comments when she's busy. We understand. As long as we know you are there, and we do, we're happy.

  10. Your ghostwriter really does her research. We never would have guessed those machines were pea pickers. That sure was an interesting video.
