Moon Flower

Hello ladies and doggies, kitties and gentlemen. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your debonaire doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I got an invitation from a Princess! Yes, my elegant and dear Princess Leah invited me to accompany her to the Sadie Hawkins dance on October 1, 2015 in Blogville. Wow! I had better have a bath and find a bow tie to wear! In the meantime, I have a surprise for her:

This is a moon flower. It opened this evening right after the sun went down. It's the size of ghostwriter's hand and smells like perfume. This vine has been growing among the morning glories all summer, putting out lots of leaves, but no flowers. This is the first one! What good timing!

Check out the heart shaped leaves too!

Now we still have another eligible bachelor in this house. That would be my esteemed, and venerable, colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. As you may have heard, Joey is Doggie Chief Inspector, comestibles division, and founder of the Yum Yum Coalition. He appreciates tasty treats, and his food watching technique is impeccable.

He is suave, sophisticated, dignified, well mannered, and wise …

… well, usually.

  4. What a beautiful moon flower for Leah - she will love it. Mom thinks we have some burgundy colored moon flowers in our neighborhood - huge and gorgeous.

    Happy weekend.

They sure are pretty...don't try ti take a nibble though.

Have a ton of fun at that dance!
If I went I would be a wallflower since I am still too wobbly to dance, though I do get around pretty well, I think growlmy says I have adapted:)
