Unplanned Saturday

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, doggies and kitties. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your adaptable doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It was one of those loose ends kind of days with no special plans around here. Ghostwriter thought she would be back at work by now since her hand surgery is almost healed up. But the doctor said she had to wait till next Tuesday. I'm not picky about what to do. I'm game for anything.

The Double Doggie Homeland Security reports that this morning there was a big old crow sitting on the top of the neighbor's house. All the local birdies were in a tizzy and the grackles were dive bombing him. Well, sometimes crows steal the baby birdies from their nests. I went out and barked them all away. Hopefully none of the babies were harmed.

And then this happened:

Zoom!

There was a weird thing on TV this afternoon called a Freakness. First there were a lot of really short little humans walking around in funny, colorful outfits. Next, a bunch of horses started running around with those mini humans on their backs. It was the strangest thing I ever saw! I'd much rather see the horses running free like the ones in the nice pictures our good friend Carol sends us from Chincoteague.

Look look look! They have spots like me!

Now it's time for the yum yum section of our report, featuring my esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel, Doggie Chief Inspector, comestibles division, and founder of the Yum Yum Coalition.

Hello friends and fans everywhere. I would like to present to you a special treat: some food music from my favorite music group Trout Fishing in America. I'd gladly eat some "hard eggs" in the morning! I don't know what their problem is!

Nap time! Tomorrow will be a busy day.

Before we go, here's a nice local story about the police and fire fighters in the neighboring town of Gates rescuing a cute little duckling from a storm grate.

Thanks for watching and good night.
