Hello everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Yesterday my ghostwriter went to visit our Oma at the nursing home. (She's doing fine.) Loyal readers will remember that there is a family of ducks living in the enclosed courtyard: one Mama duck and eleven ducklings. Well, now the ducklings are as big as their Mama! All they need are their flight feathers to grow in, and they'll be flying out of there. When ghostwriter and Oma went out to see them, they were happily playing in two little pools with Mama watching them closely.
|
Everyone into one pool now! Hurry up! |
She decided that all eleven ducklings should be playing together in one pool. Here they are! Eleven— count 'em—eleven ducklings all crowded into the one muddy pool!
|
OK children, play nice. |
|
Now then! Everybody out! Hurry up! Out of the pool! |
|
We shall now stretch our wings and preen our feathers. |
|
Listen up, children! You are all to sit quietly while I go out for lunch. Bye! |
With that, Mama duck flew away. The youngsters did as they were told: they snuggled together and sat quietly. A few even took a nap!
After about half an hour, Mama duck returned.
|
Hey, I'm back! |
|
Now I want you all to go down the walk and visit those people over there! |
Ghostwriter and Oma thought that human children would never be that well-behaved!
Chester thank you so very much for the most adorable update on the ducklings and their Mom.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is quite glad she is not a Mother Duck or Mother Goose she doesn't want 11 of anything to feed. MOL
Hugs madi your bfff
Oh my gosh they are so cute. We just to have 5 ducks but living in the country is not always safe for them..........dang. We really enjoyed watching them waddle...lol.....mags and gus
ReplyDeleteThe duckies are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteCrikey Chester ..... how good is that and what a clever Mummy. We have ducks in our river and we watch when they have babies. They start out with heaps and by the time they are grown as big as your Oma's ducklings their numbers have dwindled to one or two. To raise a flock of 11 is amazing. It's good to hear that Oma is doing well.
ReplyDeleteWe wish them all the best of luck when they do fly away. They've grown up in a very sheltered place with food readily available. Hope they're not too take to survive in the wild.
DeleteSuch a fun post, Chester. We loved seeing the ducklings and their fun in the pool. Weren't they just so good to listen to their Mama.

ReplyDeleteSo cute!
Those ducklings do mind better than most children. BOL!
ReplyDeleteThat duck family is very adorable. I think it's so considerate for the nursing home to put out a pool for them. I wish Mom would get a pool for me. I am not allowed in the big pool in the courtyard at our apartment complex.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
