Work

Hi. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your disgruntled doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My ghostwriter has been working too much lately. I always know when she's going to work because she wears the white pants. When I see the white pants, I give her the cold shoulder because I know she's going to be gone for a long time. Yesterday she left at 1:30pm to go to a meeting at work, and then worked a 12-hour shift. She didn't come home until almost 4am! She didn't do the regular routine of playing with me, having a snack and a glass of wine, after which she lets me out for the last business of the day. Nope. This time she came home, hardly said hello to me, and went right to bed.

I think she should retire.

    1. Dad is retired and he's almost always home. But I would be happier if ghostwriter was retired too.

  2. We think so too, Chester. But Mom is good to help all those people every day. We can usually tell when Mom is going out too. Something about the way she dresses.

  5. Our Lady does not have white pants, she has a huge briefcase and has also been working too much. Sigh!

  6. I only have to go into the office 1 day per week with my teleworking agreement. Abby still sulks as soon as she sees me putting on "grownup clothes" instead of sitting around in my PJ' working away until my lunch when I get a quick walk and a shower. When I was a pilot 14- 16 hour shifts were the norm and they'd sometimes start at 4 a.m. one day, then two days later start at 3 pm. It was exhausting and I don't miss that part of flying at all.

  12. I feel your pain, Chester, except it's my mommy who is retired and daddy who goes off to work and sometimes doesn't come home until way late. I can't figure out what he does that could be more important than his DOG!

  13. Retirement is the best job ever, C. Mom is retired and she only has to go to work for an hour every two weeks! And not ever in the summer. Your ghostwriter should get that job. It’s fun!

  16. Dear Chester,

That is unacceptable. I think she should retire too. Or perhaps you should pee on her white pants so she cannot go to work.

Also, that first picture of you is very cute!

  18. I hear you Chester! My two-legger leaves early in the morning, comes home late at night, goes to bed immediately, than does the same thing the next day! I have had to start snuggling up to her in bed (I don't ever do that you know), just to get a bit close to her.

Hoping your Mum and my two-legger start doing better soon, otherwise we might need to take action!
