A Little Bit Of Thanks

Hello. This is The Daily Bone and we're your empathetic doggie reporters Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel and Chester L. W. Spaniel.

As you may know, our ghostwriter has been sick and missed several days of work at the nursing home this week. She's better now and went into work yesterday morning only to find out that yet another one of her dear old people had passed away. That makes eight in the last two months! She usually takes these things in stride because she knows it's a natural part of life, especially working with a geriatric population. Then she received a note addressed to her personally at the nursing home. It was from the family of a lady who had passed just before Christmas. They said thank you for all the good care she had given to the lady, and to them too, especially in the last three days of her life. Ghostwriter says it's now time for a good cry, not just because she's sad about all the people who've passed, but because someone said thank you in writing to her for doing a good job.

You know, Chester, sometimes these humans are very hard to figure out!

  1. The job your mom does is very impawtent to the daily lives of those who live in the facility. Often times the lives of the residents becomes so small that this kind of good care is their only joy. It is so nice that the family recognized that and thanked your mom. It takes a special person to work with the aging population so your mom must be very special.

  3. That was a touching gesture. My 95 year old Dad has two caregivers that come into the home so he can stay there and not to into assisted living. I always make sure Dad has extra cash so he can take them out for a nice meal or buy them some extra groceries or treats for themselves when they shop for his food together (once he's up, he can walk pretty well, he just can't stand without assistance). Your Mom is an angel to do that work, and the families appreciate it, even if some never say so.

  5. Growlmy knows exactly how your Ghostwriter feels, pups.
She lost 4 residents in December, 3 of them in the same week:(

How lovely for your residents family to send her a note of thanks. Those become precious mementos for us, don't they?

    Sending a ton of hugs.

  6. Ghostwriter has a very difficult job. It has to be tough to work with people that you know are close to the end of their days. But it sure sounds like she does a very loving and very good job at what she does. Please give her some extra smoochies from us.

  8. Wells guys, your Moms does a most impawtent job, that only special peeps can do. It takes a kind heart and soul to help those who need it. Ma remembers how impawtent it was to have caring and kind peeps around Gma when she was in care. Give your Moms some extra snuggles and slobbery kisses..that always makes the peeps feel betters! Oh, and tell them that giving you extra treaties will make them feel betters too....☺
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  10. That is so very beautiful for someone to thank your Momma, some people just don't appreciate how hard your Mommas job is both physically and emotionally, people can just think that it's just a job but the care, love and support your Mom gives is a wonderful thing, it really does take a very special person to do your Moms job and I'm proud of her and glad she is appreciated! Love and Licks from your Furiend Frank XxxxX
