Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
We had a big change in the weather this week. In fact, yesterday we woke up to find snow on the ground! Well, it wasn't exactly snow. If you want to get technical, it was sleet that kind of fused together on the ground.
All day long it was cold and windy. The sky had a definite wintry look.
My ghostwriter, who is now in her annual winter-denial mode, says it will surely be 80ยบ by next week!
Anyway, considering the weather, I can only show you a couple flowers. All the rest have died or gone to seed.
Here's a little cabbage butterfly resting on the hosta leaves.
We do, however, have several beautiful autumn leaves to show you.
There are still a lot more leaves on the trees. I will be sure to keep you posted on the changes.
(Don't tell ghostwriter. But the weatherman is predicting snow again on Sunday.)
Our mom would love to have another day at 70+ degrees but thinks it will be a long time before we see one in the 80's until next spring. You sure found some nice flowers and colorful leaves to show us.
ReplyDeleteTells Ghostwriter to come on overs! It was 84 today, and it's gonna be in the 80's all weekend! It's gonna pretty nice for next week too, so bring your suitcase! (and limes for the margaritas....) ☺
ReplyDeleteButts, Ma says she is SO ready for the cold weather, butts looks like it's gonna be another warm winter, and little snow pack.sigh. Ma likes the cold (California ☺) storms, and hates the subtropical ones. Sounds like I'm gonna have to listen to this alllllll winter. Can I stay with you???
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
We don't have any flowers left, they all froze when the temp went to 25F...though some plants were rescued and are in the back porch, in their patio pots... Not sure wht the next week will be like but I sure hope there might be some warmer days to enjoy before the winter comes.
ReplyDeleteEven a few flowers is more than we have here! Your leaves are so lovely too. Our trees are just starting to get some fall color. Mom says the skies here look more like November than October. We haven't seen any snow here yet although they say north of us by about 25 miles they had some earlier this week.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We love your pretty flowers and autumn leaves. That is sure one hardy little butterfly!
ReplyDeleteI saw a butterfly the other day as well! Not the same one though, mine was a bit more easily spotted. I think you did very well in finding that one, because I had to look twice and I knew it was there as you had just told us!

Chester...no worries I won't shout out to GW THAT IT MIGHT SNOW ON SUNDAY....nope I'll keep it to myself.
ReplyDeleteI love all your colorful leaves especially arranged on the rock well done. The leaves here are just starting to turn colors and turn loose too. I hope the turning wins over the turning loose.
Hugs Cecilia
Our Lady is being a climate denier. She is also pretending it will be warm next week.
ReplyDeleteMy mommy has given up on our Indian summer this year. October is almost ovfur, and we only had two days that even got above 70*. That's okey-dokey by us doggies, but mommy has a whole drawer full of hot-weather clothes she was hoping to dust off!
ReplyDeleteThose autumn leaves are as pretty as any flowers I’ve ever seen!
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake

We have the same sad situation. We miss summer already
ReplyDeleteYour leaves are so pretty. Ours haven't begun to change in south Texas but I'm anxious to see autumn colors.
