After The Rain

Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

It was gray and dreary for the past two days with rain and fog and mist. Today it finally cleared up! I'm going to talk about cheerful things. For one thing, the trees are just starting to turn pretty colors.

The rainy days have been great for growing mushrooms!

My ghostwriter says this picture looks like the Smurf Village. (Whatever that is!)

Don't worry. I didn't eat any of them, even though our Oma says the white ones would probably be very yummy.

Speaking of Oma, ghostwriter took her to visit our local farm market to see the Halloween decorations and pumpkins.

Now for a Double Doggie Homeland Security announcement.

There have been not one, not two, but three screwy squirrels ditzing around in my yard and eating the birdie seeds! I've been having to run out and chase them almost every 15 to 20 minutes during the daylight hours.

(Getting pooped out!)

Here's a picture of one as he climbed up the clothesline pole:

Doggies are to be on the look-out for these scurrilous miscreants. They are especially bold right now! They don't even run away when they see me looking out the garage door at them. They just stare at me with their beady little eyes, as if daring me to catch them, and then take off as soon as I set one paw out the door.

Stay out of my yard, crummy, rotten, dastardly squirrels!

  2. Oh our mom sez that lookz like a most wunnerful farmer's market. Your Oma must've loved it there The only pesky squirrelz we haf around here haf lerned not to come anywhere in our yard. They either run along the top of the wood fence or stay up on the wirez above the yard to teaze us. Az fer the rain - we think that the faucet to turn it OFF iz broken - now we hear mom say stuff like possible flash flood sumwherez. We don't wanna hafta swim fer it butt mom sez it won't bother the Beaglebrtz Manor groundz - well we gotz that swimmin'pool we can uze feer a boat just in case.

  5. You sure have some interesting mushrooms. We are glad the sun has finally come out but boy is it going to be hot! It looks like your Oma was having a fun time at the market. Those squirrels have been keeping us on our toes too. They come in our yard more this time of year to bury all their nuts.

  6. We are glad your rain has stopped. Ours has been endless. It is making it very hard for Mom and Lightning. Mom said to tell your Mom that the purpose of the laser treatment is to help with muscle and tissue healing and to reduce inflammation. Six treatments were part of the surgery "package". It is expensive but if it helps, Mom says she will do it for him.

That's a whole lot of shrooms in your yard.

  10. Your leaves are lovely! We won't see those colors for another month or so. Well, this is our first fall in Texas so I am assuming it will be a while longer. LOL!

My Mum says that you can eat every mushroom, although some only once (she has a nasty sense of humour my Mum).
Good to see Oma out and about.
