Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your optimistic doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
It was a lovely 60º out today, with a light breeze, and some hazy clouds. The grass is greening up and plants are starting to come up in the garden.
Some big trucks were in the neighborhood picking up piles of branches and logs from the trees that were knocked down in that big wind storm we had a few weeks ago. Crews were also going around repairing lawn damage caused by the snow plows in winter.
In case you're wondering why there's a snow plow here today, they're often used off season as dump trucks. This one was loaded up with debris.

It probably still has the side plow attached because it can snow in WNY in April and even May!
I kid you not! In fact, here's a picture from 2009 when it snowed on Mother's Day in May!

Yeah, winter doesn't want to leave too quickly from around here. That's a good thing actually for growing fruit. It keeps the trees from blooming too soon and then getting a frost. All along the southern shore of Lake Ontario are miles and miles of orchards and vineyards!
Anyway, you may have noticed, there's a down spout right behind me that comes off the roof of the house. The ground I'm standing on is completely soggy and mushy. I've been trying to be good and not get too muddy. But with so many things going on in the neighborhood, I could hardly keep from trampling through all of it while I ran around and barked. I had to go directly to the bath tub after that. Fortunately, I like the bath tub, and jump right in!
Later in the evening, we heard robins singing all around the neighborhood and spring peepers too.
Ghostwriter says spring peepers are a sure sign of spring. We'll just see how it goes.
Spring is really starting to spring up in your area, Chester! We are really amazed that your city/town actually repairs lawn damage caused by the plows - that is pretty impressive!!!

We got outside for a nice day yesterday too. It was like spring. And then it was back to cold rain today. Oh well, spring was nice.

We've had some nice weather lately, but everybody has horror stories on how it snowed on May 17th (national holiday here) in 1985!
