Hello there everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your enthusiastic doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
As loyal readers know, my esteemed colleague and best friend Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel passed away a week ago. He usually did his weekly food report every Saturday. So I will try to fill in as best I can. Dad and ghostwriter don't always eat a full dinner, so we only have two to show this week.
First we have a Greek inspired dish: grilled pork chop that was marinated in State Fair Spiedie Sauce, with crispy spanokopita, and some fresh yellow beans from our local farm store.
Next is a simple chicken pot pie, with more of those excellent, tender, delicious yellow beans.
I think then, Joey would present a couple funnies that had a doggie and/or food theme.
Red and Rover
Joey dog usually puts at least one picture of our favorite miniature human Ryan, who is now back from his vacation. He sent us several pictures. But I think this is the best one! (I'm sure Joey dog would disagree because he used to hate getting wet.)
And then he'd wrap up with some local news.
Well, there's not much going on here, so I thought we should have put more photos of that hummingbird moth in our last post. Ghostwriter says she was so lucky to have been able to get lots of pictures of it, and was surprised it didn't take off the minute she moved close to it.

I think it looks like a cross between a birdie, a butterfly, and a shrimp!
And let us not forget, at the Blogville Pawlympics, the first two competitions are starting today. Please check the links below to get in on all the fun!
Well, how did I do?
Here's an old photo of me and Joey dog that one of the siblings sent us. I decided that I'm going to put an old picture of Joey dog at the end of all my posts. (I wish we had more pictures of Miss Ginger and Charisma.)
Joey will be missed. You two looked like the sweetest besties. Please let me know if you get my card!
ReplyDeleteChester what a fine post...you covered lots of our senses! Sight, taste, smell(mom is sure she got a whiff of that grilled chicken) . Mom loves hummingbirds but has never seen a hummingbird moth‼️ Can you hear us .
ReplyDeleteLastly I know Joey is Beaming pride and saying well done my Chester. Yep and a wonderful decision to put Joey's photo for closing. It is a tribute to him...we should never forget those who came before us.
Hugs Madi your bfff

You did a great job filling in for Joey today. We agree that the moth thing does look a little like a shrimp but we bet it wouldn't taste as good.
