Flowers Plus Saturday With Joey Dog

Hi there. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Ghostwriter didn't have enough time to write our Flower Friday post, but she still wanted to show you some of the beautiful tulips and forget-me-nots that are blooming right now. After that we'll go straight to Saturday With Joey Dog.

Without further ado, here's my esteemed colleague Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

Thanks Chester. This week the humans didn't do much cooking. But they did make one nice dinner with grilled chicken that had been marinated in Jamaican Jerk seasoning, along with mashed sweet potatoes, and steamed vegetables. As you can see, Chester was photobombing my food watching session. I always hope he can take over this job when I'm not here, but he just can't sit still long enough for a good shot. Then, he tends to be a little pushy.

Dog Eat Doug

BIRTHDAY ALERT BIRTHDAY ALERT BIRTHDAY ALERT

I'd like to say Happy birthday to our NC associate Angus B. Terrier who is eight years old now! We hope you have a great day with lots of yum yums and walkies!

In other news, we've had increased sightings of a big hawk hunting in our neighborhood. Ghostwriter says that all the birdies in the area go on high alert whenever it's around. Grackles especially, fly in from all around to mob the hawk and try to drive it off. She managed to get a picture of it Thursday evening, although not a very good one. We're amazed that it's become so brave lately! In this photo, it's flying through the trees in our own back yard. It then skimmed over the Sparrows Incorporated Arbor Vitae Luxury birdie apartments and Convention Center by the back fence. causing a big commotion, before moving on to the spruces on the next street. We're pretty sure it's a Cooper's Hawk.

My beautiful pear tree is in full bloom now. Ghostwriter thinks the blossoms are stinky. But I don't. I just think about the wonderful pears I'll get to eat come August!

Oh, and this is the first day it's been actually warm out, which means ghostwriter can go outside without her jacket on. The trees are growing their leaves, and we have big fluffy clouds, and bright sunshine.

That's it for our Saturday report. I hope you have a good week!

He's photobombing again, isn't he?

Oh, I almost forgot! I have a riddle for you!
Question: What did the squirrel give his ex-girlfriend?
Answer: Forget-me-nuts!

Bwahahahahahahaha!
