Greetings friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I am your observant doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
There really hasn't been much going on around here lately. Ghostwriter's been working a lot and hasn't had time to keep up with blogging lately. She wants her Blogville friends to know she's reading your posts, but might not always comment.
It's starting to cool off, especially at night. The farmers are beginning to harvest their crops. Here's a beautiful view of the fields along Route 15.
The drought continues. It's still dry as a bone around here! Ghostwriter has been transplanting irises, and found the soil is completely arid no matter how deeply she digs. She waters small parts of the garden every day, and the rest has to fend for itself. We have very few flowers, and not many bugs.

And now I'd like to show you a cartoon that pretty much sums up my own philosophy
on tennis balls.
on tennis balls.
Take it From the Tinkersons
Rule number one: the tennis ball is always MINE!
Yu have sum purdy flowers an sum innerestin bugs! I like to catch me a grasshopper an then roll on him. We have prayin mantis. Mommy moved one that she thinks wuz tryin to catch a hummingburd!
ReplyDeleteI don't get it...my mom is always throwing the ball and asking me to get it, but I often don't want to. If it's that impawtent to her, why doesn't she get the ball herself?
ReplyDeleteThe view of your fields is just stunning Love that sky! Our mom is loving the Morning Glory and we are loving the picture of you and your tennis ball, Chester!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers despite your drought. We have a lot of rain lately...no longer a drought here.
ReplyDeleteThat golden bug is strangely pretty...we looked up your link. Hmmm.
I am like you, Chester, all balls in my mouth are *mine* and if I pick one up after you throw it, it for sure is only mine!
Great pictures! Relic has the same philosophy on tennis balls - when he's done, that's it. :)
ReplyDeleteLots of beauty in today's pictures!! We hope the GW gets some time off soon!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

WE had some praying mantis in our yard last week. Mom freaked out cause I grabbed one and ran off. But he was OK. She moved them out of our yard

Oh Chester we know what GW means about dry...the peeps were just up in the Yadkin Valley (NC's version of Napa valley) area of NC this past week. About the only thing loving this weather is the Muscadine and Scuppernog grapes. The wet spring followed by hot dry summer has made the grapes happy. Your flowers and bugs are very pretty. The crane fly and Golden beetle are new to us. MOLMOL I love that cartoon
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your kitty friend
You take the most beautiful and delicate pictures
