Blooms and Bug Beasties

Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

I couldn't wait until Flower Friday, so I decided to do my own post on the flora and fauna in my yard today. We don't have much blooming because of the hot dry weather this summer. There haven't been  many bugs and spiders lately either. Usually this time of year we have big giant garden spiders. So without any more ado, here's the tour:

Yellow snapdragons.

Hosta flowers with yellowjacket wasp.

The solitary slug.

Milkweed bug on milkweed pod.

The hydrangeas are turning colors.

Newly planted mums.

The big spider that lives by the front door. She's a beauty!

An ant mimic spider.

Zinnia

More mums.

Garden Buddha is waiting for the stonecrop to bloom.

I hope that first spider didn't scare you! It was super fast and ghostwriter has been trying to photograph it for days. The other spider is actually very small—the size of an ant. In fact, if you didn't stop and count the legs, you'd think it was an ant!

The big surprise I have is next. FINALLY! Ghostwriter saw, and was able to take a picture of a monarch butterfly!

Now, who does that make me think of?

Here's a hint:

I wonder if Princess Leah looking at the moon tonight?

And  now, here's our random Angel Joey dog picture. This one's from earlier this summer.
