Saturday With Joey Dog

Hello friends and fans. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter and comestibles expert Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel.

As you can see, I've had to endure a spring buzz cut by our groomer Miss Jacquie. Ghostwriter thinks Miss Jacquie is fabulous because she puts up with me and my obstreperous associate Chester L. W. Spaniel at her salon every couple months. She also always remembers not to put doggie perfume on us because it gives ghostwriter hives, and makes Dad sneeze. (Not that we doggies enjoy it either!) As you might remember, I hate getting my feet wet, and especially hate anyone messing with my feet. Grrrrrrrr. I am generally pretty easy going except when it comes to my feet! Cocker spaniels have fur between their toes that keeps growing. I like my toe fur, and keep it perfectly clean, if I do say so myself! In fact, I'm obsessive about it! Well, enough about that, lest you think I'm a total grump!

I actually have some excellent yum yums to show you from this last week. Dad fired up the old grill for the first time this spring, so we had a few delicious barbecued entrees. (Note some of these photos were taken before my buzz cut.)

First, there was a plain chicken breast, with some lovely rice, and steamed mixed vegetables.

Here we have something really special: grilled beef tenderloin, with asparagus, and wild rice.

Jamaican jerk seasoned salmon, mashed sweet potatoes, and steamed vegetables.

Hamentaschen cookies!

Schwann's Cookies and Cream ice cream. I get to lick the bowl. Dem's da rules.

Now it's time for a few funnies!

This one I dedicate to Chester:

Hey!

We just got an update from our correspondent in North Carolina, Angus B. Terrier. He was out walking and found some beautiful violets!

Wow!  Looks like spring there!

My favorite flowers are blooming right now: puppy willows!

Oh, and check out this trailer for an upcoming film about our favorite subject: pets!
This looks like great fun and we can't wait to see it!

Time for a nap now.

Oh, and do you see that bright blue bow stuck on my collar? That's from Miss Jacquie.

  8. Mom doesn't let the groomer put any perfume on us either - it is really stinky stuff:) We have lots of fur between our pads too and it grows very quickly and very long. Mom had to get Phantom's trimmed very often because he would slide all over the floors. So we guess there is at least one good reason to get them trimmed. YOur plates look delicious. Mom says she needs to get some asparagus soon - it is all so nice these days.

    Happy weekend.
