Barking Up The Wrong Tree

Hi there everybody. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your perceptive doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

There was a big birdie brawl going on this morning. The grackles, the robins and the starlings were all beating each other up over something. Ghostwriter kept telling me to look up in the bushes. But according to my trusty sense of smell, they're up the silver maple tree.

"But Chester, look over there! They're in the next yard over in the bushes."

Nope, nope, nope. They're up this tree. My nose is never wrong.

"But Chester, they're right in the bushes behind the fence! Don't you hear them squawking and flapping?"

My nose tells me they went up this tree.

Yup. Some evil squirrels ran up this tree. I can smell their dirty little footy prints!

Who cares about a birdie fight when there are fresh squirrel tracks to follow?

  10. Dear Chester,

I think there is something wrong with the people. Their noses are broken, or perhaps clearly inferior. I mean, really - how could they not know that there were squirrel tracks there?
