Hello. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your bored doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
My ghostwriter said that starting September, her work schedule would go back to three days a week. Well, I could have told her not to hold her breath. So guess what???? The night nurse quit! Now the staff from day and evening shifts have to cover those hours between 11pm and 7am. What they've been doing is a nurse from the evening shift stays until 3am, and then a day shift nurse comes in. Tonight it's my ghostwriter's turn to work from 3pm to 3am. Blah! After that she's pretty tired, and we haven't been doing much lately. So I've been spending a lot of my time sleeping!
What? Oh, you're headed out to work again. |
Whatever. |
I hope she gets to retire before she gets to this point:
You are most creative in your sleeping positions. And very cute.
ReplyDeleteSleeping is an awesome way to pass the time.
ReplyDeleteWe think Ghost Writer should be snuggling with you when she gets home at 3am. That way she will have a great snooze and be refreshed when she gets up.
ReplyDeleteWell, if Ghost Writer can't sleep, I guess you can sleep for the both of you! And it really is the best way to make the time go quicker! I hope the Ghost Writer gets to be home at night with you soon - Are you afraid to stay by yourself at night?
ReplyDeleteDont worry, Dad is retired and keeps me company when GW is at work.
ReplyDeleteOh noes. That is terribles Chester! Maybe you could keeps her company at work ~ do they have a couch there? Then you could keeps your eye on her and make sure she doesn't work too hard.
ReplyDeleteYou do seem like you are gettin' enough zzzz's for the both of you! BOL
I hopes they hire a new nurse soon, so Ghostwriter can gets some rest!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Petcretary told us that they have way too many staffing issues where she works, too...they hire and they fire and they rehire and yet again someone quits and we just cannot keep ahead. Tonight there were 4 cna's and one working a half shift...to look after 66 residents. Ack!
ReplyDeleteAnd more of the same woes on the weekend when no one wants to pick up extra hours...sigh...oh and its a full moon...and we just lost three little dear ladies in a weeks time:(
Well, Chester, at least you get to sleep, maybe you cna df=do some 'pinch-sleeping' for your GW! As if...BOL!
Snoooozzzz ... poor Mommy, no rest for the weary, be sure you cuddle her a wholabunch when she is home, she most certainly needs it (and deserves it!).
ReplyDeleteYour poor mom is overworked, Chester. Make sure you gets lots of cuddles in with her when she's home and sleeping.
ReplyDeleteOh dawg, that's a long time! I'd hate for my momma to be gone that long. Give her extra snuggles to make up for all that lost time!
ReplyDeleteOh No Chester...looks like you will have to take on the extra snoozing duties for GW....and by the look of today's photos you are up to the task
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
That must be so hard to do: start in the middle of the night! Respect for your Mum!
ReplyDeleteKlem, Mara
I'm sorry your GW has to put in so many hours. I'm sure she gives the same good care to her patients at 2 a.m. after being there 11 hours, but it shouldn't be that way.
ReplyDeleteIt must be something in the water as they say.
ReplyDeleteOur mom has the same problem at her work with cna and nurses.
She comes home and does nothing but sleep.
We hope things change soon for your mom and ours too.
Hope they get another staff member so GW doesn't have to work so much

Sleeping is a good choice, C. By the time your ghostwriter is finished covering the night shift, you'll be all rested up and filled with energy.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
OMD!! Your ghostwriter must be pooped!!! Give her extra hugs when she comes home!
ReplyDeletePinot xo
Dear Chester,
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awful. The work part, not the part about the naps!
