The Mystery Of The Severed Hands

Hello there. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

Halloween madness is afoot everywhere. Even at my house, my humans tried to think of a good Halloween costume for me. Here they thought I could be the most scary thing ever: a litigation lawyer! But they kind of messed up the concept with their choice of ties. I wasn't very thrilled about this wardrobe accessory to say the least.

What the heck is this thing?

Oh, I know! It's a new leash!

Can we go for walkies now?

Then they thought they'd squash me into Miss Ginger's old skeleton costume. She had black furs and was a petite little girlie doggie. This was a perfect costume … for her!

You have GOT to be kidding me!

But anyway, I suppose you have been wondering about that picture ghostwriter posted on our October 20th report. You know, the one with the severed hands crawling out of a brief case?

Those hands belong to her collection of squeaky toys that are not squeaky toys, otherwise known as  dolls by Integrity Toys. She's been collecting these for many years.

You see, collectors like to dress their dolls in lots of different clothes. But the styles are limited because it's very hard to put certain clothes on the dolls when their fingers get stuck on the fabric, or the sleeve doesn't fit over the hand. So Integrity invented removable hands so clothes and jewelry can be taken on and off the doll easily. These dolls also come with an extra pair of hands that are in different positions so the doll can hold a purse or something. See the watch on this guy? The only way to put it on is to remove the hand first.

Ghostwriter doesn't collect many dolls anymore. But she still likes to go to the conventions to see all her collector friends. Her office has shelves full of dolls!

When I was a pup, I snatched one of these dolls off the shelf and ran around the house playing keep-away with it. I got into BIG trouble for that! Now I know that no matter how much like a squeaky toy ghostwriter's dolls look, I am never to touch them!

Now, about that walk …

  12. Nice tie, Chester! Now about those squeakies your mommy won't share. I guess that's okay, as long as you have just as many, and she doesn't try to play with them. (Isn't it funny how hoomans like to put clothes on evfurrything?!)

  13. Oh my word Chester you might not like the neck tie but seeing a man in neck wear makes me weak in the knees. You look fab!

MOLMOL My human sis was a Barbie collector. Our first family pet was Toto the mighty mini Dachshund. OMCs Dad called Toto a 'leg man'. That crazy dachshund used to gnaw on Barbie legs and OMCs did sissy get mad. Once she chased him around the house mom heard them coming she opened the patio door out went Toto with sis hot on his trail. Let me tell you when necessary that vertically challenged Dachshund could run. Hugs madi your bfff

That is quite the doll collection! Reminds me of all the drummer dudes that are in this den, well over 300 of them...peeps can be strange huh? Why don't they collect things to eat or spend at stores for our treats and toys??
