Long Time No See

Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition and we're your doggie reporters Rosie and Baby Spaniel.

We know it's been a really long time since we've posted, or even checked our friends' posts. But a lot has happened in the last almost two years. Our longtime blogger friends may recall that our dad had a stroke in the autumn of 2023. He's been in a nursing home since then.

We doggies visit him almost every day at lunch time. Our ghostwriter used to work there as a nurse until she retired, and still knows a lot of the staff and residents. We doggies have gotten to know many of them too. After lunch with dad, we visit our old lady and gentlemen friends. They're always very glad to see us. Although we were never trained as therapy dogs, we are still able to make people happy, and help them to remember their own pets and the good times they had.

We know that The Daily Bone used to include our predecessor Chester's views on politics and current events of the world of humans. But we girlie dogs don't understand all that. We're not even good at posing for pictures. But we're learning. Meanwhile, most of our photos were taken while we're sleeping.

We're going to try to catch up with our longtime blogger friends, and get back into blogging.

Good night.

  1. Welcome back, Rosie and Baby. You two have grown up a lot. We are sorry about your Dad, but we know you and your Mom are making sure he is well cared for. We don't blog as often any more. We lost Lightning a little over a year ago, and it has been hard. But we keep trying to keep Mom smiling.

  2. How wonderful to see and hear from you, Rosie and Baby! We are so happy that you get to visit your dad every single day and we know how much he and everyone else loves seeing the two of you. Our Molly passed away in April last year and mom and my sissy drove to Stockbridge to get me.

  4. It's so good to hear from you, Rosie and Baby. You two are surely bring so much joy to your dad and all the residents at his care home. Millie left for the Bridge a couple of months ago, but I'm doing well as an only dog.

  5. So good to see you two again. When DaWeenies went to the Bridge, our blogging kind of stopped too. But we do put one out there occasionally. So sorry to hear about your Dad. I know the two of you and Mom must really make him and all the other residents smile. Hugs to all.

  6. Hello, once again, How wonderful to hear from you and your Mom.
We too are sorry that your Dad cannot live at home with you so that makes it doubly fine that you are able to go and see him every day and also give doggy joy to the rest of the residents and staff there.

Our petcretary is still working at her nursing home venue, and will continue there ...she is on a two day a week schedule but after Labor Day , she will be going only on an as needed basis. (PRN). We love that she felt it was time for her to slow down...

Sending lots of love and hugs to all of you! And wags and wiggles, too...and maybe a few soppy kisses!

  7. Christine, it is wonderful to see a posting from you. We knew things had been difficult and had thought of you often, but thank you for "touching base" here to let all know about you, Dad, Rosie & Baby. As much as you're able try to keep us all up to date, we do care about all of you ... paws together, and gentle hugs as you go through these times. Ann and June
