Rain, Finally!

Hello friends. This is The Daily Bone, Princess Edition, and we're your doggie reporters Baby and Rosie Spaniel.

This picture was taken a few days ago in the midst of a long dry spell. Our ghostwriter was glad the weather was so dry because it meant we pups wouldn't be tracking so much dirt and grass clippings into the house. We're not sure about that since we still do our best to trample through the flower beds, and raid the compost pile even when it's dry out. Anyway, let's get on with our report. We have some really nice flowers blooming.

Baby robins are everywhere. (This picture is blurry because it was taken through the screen on the front door.) Every time we doggies go out, several robin families go crazy and scold us to stay away from their babies. Unlike our esteemed predecessor Chester L. W. Spaniel, we girls haven't gotten into catching birdies … yet.

We chase bunnies and squirrels, though!

As you've been probably been hearing on the TV news, there has been a lot of smoke from the forest fires in Canada rolling into WNY. We can smell it, and it makes the sun seem hazy.

Most of it has cleared up now. And just in time, we got a rainy day!

Did we want to go out in the pouring rain?

Um, that's a nope.

Let us back in the house!

We can look at the flowers indoors. And take a good long nap too!

GW here: Rosie and Baby didn't want to go out in the rain, but they happily stuck their faces in the stream of water from the hose when I had to water the garden the past couple weeks during the dry spell. Go figure!

  1. You two are so cute sticking your noses out into the rain and refusing to go all the way out. We don't like the rain much either and only went out long enough to get our business done. You have such pretty flowers in your yard.

  2. Thank you for sharing your marvelous blooms. My parents spent a lot of time weeding and pruning today. Hopefully the hundred year old rose bush will bloom.

  4. Your gardens and flowers are just beautiful and I'm with you - I prefer not to go out in the rain and when I have to, I hate getting towel dried afterwards.

  7. Hi friends, Ojo here! Doesn't the rain make everything smell so strong and fresh! You may not like to go out in it, but hurray for the rain! (Not-hurray for the smoke.)
