Hi!

Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.

We hope that you are enjoying the beginning of the new year. I have a few stories today, so I'll start right in.

The Evil Squirrel Cartel Strikes Again!

One of my ghostwriter's coworker's husband was doing some work in his garage. All of a sudden, a squirrel dropped onto his shoulder. He was so surprised that he tripped and fell over. Unfortunately, his hand hit the blade of an axe , and he sustained a large, deep cut that needed stitches. He's OK now, but plans to get some traps for those twitchy miscreants.

We actually haven't seen many squirrels in our yard lately. Either they're hibernating somewhere, or else they grabbed a ride to another location. As a reminder, this truck is available every Monday morning for squirrels on the move!

The Virus Strikes Again

At the nursing home where my ghostwriter works, and our Oma lives, one employee tested positive for that rotten covid virus. Now the entire facility is on lock down again. That happened the same day everyone got their covid immunizations. We're very hopeful that we'll soon beat this menace and things can finally go back to normal!

The Snow Situation

Here in WNY we still haven't had a big snow fall. Here's a picture of me from yesterday morning. We got a dusting that soon melted in the sun.

By the way, this is the only bit of sunshine we've seen in weeks, and it only lasted long enough to melt the snow!

My ghostwriter says no snow is all right with her, because she won't have to deal with this …

…and this …

… and this …

… and this …

… and this …

Nope. She doesn't miss the snow in the least! She also hopes she didn't jinx it by saying that.

I suppose I don't miss it either. But I remember when it was great fun!

  1. We hope you get some snow to play in soon. Maybe things are better now that the home is locked down. Less sick people around to make your mom ill.

  2. We have our paws crossed for your Oma and all the residents and workers at the care home. Our yard is just mud when it's warm enough so we would be much happier if it would snow a little more. It's more fun to play in snow than mud. We understand why your ghostwriter is happier without it though. A little sun would be nicer. It makes our daddy very depressed.

  4. I sure hope and pray that Oma and all the other residents will weather this current 'invasion' and stay safe. And also You, GW and all your fellow workers...its a scary time for sure, I know too well, firsthand.

Snow?? We don't want it either, though the garden and nature peeps know we need it cause we here in Michigan are on the verge of a drought situation. We need snow for the trees and other waterbodies to thrive. It also protects from extreme cold...but well, so far we have not had that either. The coldest so far has been about 10F.

    Those squirrels!! Yikes!!

Have a great rest of the week, Chester, you and your family:)

  5. Stoopid squirrels. That's just awful! We will send lots and lots of positive vibes to Oma and all of the other residents. This virus is just so scary! Not having to leave home is the best time for lots of snow to fall and have fun in it!

I hope and pray this C19 in Oma's facility and GW's will be short lived.
I continue to try to find a vaccine appt. for Dad of Angel Madi they fill up quickly and here in WAKE Co which is huge, they only have 3 locations. I hear that will change soon.

  8. Now I know for sure that squirrels ARE evil!! Whether that accident was planned or not, they are the cause! #evil Prayers that the nursing home gets successfully protected from the virus, (also evil) and that the lockdown goes quickly and uneventfully for them.

What a shame about the nursing home - we hope the Ghostwriter stays safe and healthy.

Mom has the same feelings about snow, but we sure would love to see some more.
