Good evening. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your proficient doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
My ghostwriter thought I was getting too old to catch anything anymore. But I proved her wrong! Look look look lookie look! I caught the birdie for YOU!
Cocker spaniels are the smallest of the hunting doggies, and I can still hunt even though I'm almost eleven years old!
The birdie was hiding by the fence. But I sniffed it out and caught it! It's a mourning dove birdie. Can we have it for dinner today?
Yup! I'm still a good hunting doggie!
Heredity cannot be discounted.
ReplyDeleteGW here. I feel bad for the birdie, but Chester is always so proud when he catches something, that I can't be mad at him. He thinks he's doing his job. He hasn't caught a bird or even a mouse in the last couple years, so I though his hunting days were over.
ReplyDeleteGood job, Chester!
ReplyDeleteYes, petcretary feels like your GW, too when we snag something...esp when its a creature that she likes to have around...and maybe just a wee bit less when its a w=varmint, BOL!
You are a true hunter, Chester! I have never caught a birdie before.
ReplyDeleteChester standing ovation and so very proud of your Spaniel Skills.
ReplyDeleteAge is just a number right? We (seniors) can do anything we set our mind to doing.
Hugs Cecilia
Chester a dogs gotta do what a dog was meant to do. We do feel a little sorry for the birdie but maybe next time you can nab one of those English sparrows we have too many of.
ReplyDeleteYou haven't lost a step. Katy still has all the critters here living in terror at 11 years old.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. At least you dind't have to fly to get him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job Chester!! Mama has always wondered what we would do with a birdie if we actually caught it BOL!

I never like it when our dogs "make something dead" but it happens, and I'm always a little sad about it, but they're doing what they do, and I'm just glad I'm at the top of the food-chain! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood job Chester!

Wowza! You sure showed her!
ReplyDeleteChester, you are one excellent hunter. Can you catch us some chicken for dinner tonight? Thanks for sharing the photos. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Wowsa! Nice catch dude! Ma's Angel Maggie used to catch burdies too! Usually small ones though, and she would swallow them befores anyone could take them away from her! ☺
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
The Bayou Boys think your parents should have it mounted and hung in the living room. They never understood why we don't mount the critters they catch either.
ReplyDeleteLady would be sad but understands nature. We are impressed by your talent.
