Hello. This is the Daily Bone and I'm your assiduous doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
It seems I missed National Doggie Day yesterday! It was not because we didn't know about it. It was because my ghostwriter had to work! In fact, she's been working way too much, in my humble opinion. She even worked on her own birthday recently. She says not to worry. By the end of this month all of her coworkers who took their well-deserved vacations, and one who was out on maternity will be returning, and ghostwriter will go back to her three days a week schedule. Hooray!
Anyway, we went out into the back yard for a photo session, and I started barking and ignoring all requests to be quiet and come sit for pictures (and yum yums.)
Can't you see there's a bunny? |
Look look look lookie look! Bark bark bark! |
OK. The bunny ran away.
In other news, ghostwriter met a little doggie named Bella who came in to visit at the nursing home. She had never seen a papillon doggie before and Bella was kind enough to sit for a picture. The word papillon means butterfly in French. This breed was named that because their big ears look like butterflies. We were surprised to learn that papillons are a type of spaniel.
Hooray for spaniels!
Hey, did that bunny come back???
I've got to run now, and check on the bunny situation.
Because, you know, bunny chasing is serious business. OK bye!
Our brother Jax was a Papillon
ReplyDeleteEvery day is National Dog Day at our house.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you Chester. We have bunnies in and around our yard too and like to chase them if we get the chance. That papillon is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteLightning gets so frustrated because all the bunnies come out at night when he is out walking with Mom. He SO wants to chase them, but that darn leash stops him - NO running, says Mom:(
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Bunny chasing are definitely seriously business!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Happy VERY Happy belated Barkday, Chester's mom aka, the ghostwriter!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd.. Happy Doggie Day to all our friends! My mom didn't even realize it until she turned her iPhone on after work. Grrrr!!
Paws up for Spaniels!! YAY!!
Pinot xoxo
Hooray for bunnies so we can bark em up! And dig under the fence to try and get at them...give that a try, Chester, then you can sneak up on one:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to your Ghostwriter, Chester! Hope she had a few moments to enjoy on tbat day...working on a birthday can be a bummer...petcretary says.
That sure is a cute papillon!
We have lots of bunnies at our house too, Chester, but sadly, when I go out on my lunge line, they've already left the back yard. Bella is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteThankfully the buns are usually on the "other side" of our fence but when the get on "our side" they hide under the shed if Dougie gets nearby ... then of course, he goes nutsy, digging at the bottom of the shed!!! Bet you do not do that! Happy "Yesterdays" Birthday to your Hu-Mom!
ReplyDeleteWhy do mommas insist on pictures when there is OBVIOUSLY something more urgent to do?!
ReplyDeleteChester OMDs I'm sorry GW has been working a lot but no worries your POST are so full of interesting and fun things they are worth the wait. Happy belated Nat. Dog Day.
ReplyDeleteWonder if your Royal Princess Leah has ever met a Papillon.

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Bunny chasing is serious business indeed! The only thing I take more seriously is trying to run all the raccoons out of the neighborhood. Do you have raccoons where you live? They are awful creatures, they make me very mad and I BARK BARK BARK! I am glad you Bark at the bunnies, even though that makes them harder to catch, it probably makes them go away! Will you tell my person that Barking at critters in the Yard is a good thing!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Friends!! WE missed National Doggie Day too - I feel better about it, knowing we were in good company with you! And the Pappion is cute! We had one in a "nose class" we took a couple of years ago. She was a fun pup, and a cutie too. I didn't know they are a spaniel - But I see the resemblance, and I also saw that bunny! Glad YOU are on the job!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well, and have some time off to enjoy the weekend - Can you believe it's Labor Day weekend??
Hello Chester, bunny chasing is really cool!! Count me in, I will bark bark bark with you!!! Here, we do squirrel instead!
