Flowers on Friday

Hello everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.

My ghostwriter has been working her fingers to the bone in the garden lately. (I'm not quite sure what that means. I mean, her fingers don't look like chewy bones to me.) But anyway, she says things are starting to shape up finally. So let's get right to it! (We took these pictures on Tuesday.)

OK, so that last picture isn't of flowers. These are our doggie statues in the front yard.

We had a nice sunset Tuesday evening.

Then the moon came up in a hazy sky.

It seemed like a great summer was finally getting started here. But not for long!

Wednesday night and most of Thursday, the rain came down in buckets!

And I do mean buckets!

This ruined many of the pretty flowers shown above. My backyard is like a swamp, and every time I go out, I get soaking wet! But at least I haven't seen any more of those mischievous chipmunks! I'm thinking they found out a drain pipe is not a good hiding place after all, especially during a torrential rain fall!

  1. Beautiful flowers. Into life some rain must fall--but not necessarily buckets of it.

  2. Your flowers are just beautiful and we love your doggie statues too! Our chippers hang out in the drain pipes. They think I don't know. HA!

  3. Thanks for the report. We hope the flowers are all ok after all that rainfall. They are just beautiful. It's a lot of hard work when working in the garden. We love the doggie statues. Have a great upcoming weekend.

  5. Oh, dear, yes, we had that line of storms too, with their torrential rainfalls. Our gauges had almost 5 inches of rain in them. We can go swimming in the lake in the field across the street...at least we are a bit higher tan over there, so only our potted plants need to be tipped to help them drain a bit faster. We did have a lot of flattened garden things too:(

Our clematis has not bloomed at all, yet. Love your huge peonies!

  6. Your flowers are so pretty Chester. We sure got soaked yesterday but it so nice that today is dry and sunny (at least so far).

  11. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Oh no, rain!??! At least it did get rid of the bad chipmunks. We hope your swamp... er, yard... dries out soon!

  12. Definitely a good spin on too much rain. It knocks down the flowers, but also knocks out the chipmunks.

    Love and licks,

  14. Hello your flowers are just gorgeous. We alternate between getting too much rain, so much that Daddy had to dig a drainage ditch in our yard to not enough and high humidity and everything wilts.
