Greetings loyal readers! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your doggie reporter Chester L. W. Spaniel.
As you may know, here in Western NY there are only two seasons: winter and road construction. The other day my ghostwriter had to see a new dentist that was located right near some major construction. She couldn't exit on the correct road because the exit ramp was closed for construction. So were the next two exits! She had to take the fourth exit and then back track back to the correct road. Then she had to creep along in a big line of backed up traffic before she could get to the place she wanted. She said she was glad she headed out an hour before the appointment!
But as she crept along, she was able to take a few pictures of the construction equipment and the guys working in the heat.
Look look look lookie look! It's my favorite super hero, Ironing Board Man!
I bet he's working hard this summer!
Oh, and ghostwriter got home pretty fast after her appointment. Even though all the exit ramps from the main highway were closed, the entrance ramps weren't. You can get on, but you can never get off!!!! Bu-waaaaahahahaha!
Well, there's one good thing about this time of year:
Yummy! Grilled steak, fresh tomatoes, and corn on the cob!!!!
Construction projects sure can cause disruption to ones plans! Good thing there are navigation systems if you have to have major detours!
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes detours are up even when its not construction...around here the annual airshow and balloon festival causes a whole lot of issues...and Pawppy is the designer of those detours being as he is the city traffic engineer, BOL!
Keep your cool, you will get there! Yup, you will need extra time!
Oh nose, poor Ghostwriter had to go for a dental as well???? Did she come back with wobbly paw syndrome?
ReplyDeleteLoves and licky kisses

ReplyDeleteDental appoints are never fun. How stressful for ghostwriter! That dinner sure does look yummy, Chester!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I thought road works only happened where I live!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm steak!
Mara from NI
Ironing board man...that was funny.
ReplyDeleteOMCs it is Orange and white barrel take over here too. Lots of new roads etc being constructed or re vamped. They wait until it is almost too late before taking care of infrastructure like roads.
That tomato looks delish is it homegrown?
Hugs madi your bfff
We're glad Ghostwriter left so early and wasn't late for her dental appointment. Our pawrents don't care much for getting stuck in construction traffic either. We sure hope you got some of that steak.
ReplyDeleteWe bet your little young man there would have loved all those construction trucks. Mom and Dad have finally had some good corn here last week - the crop was VERY late this year.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Summer corn! Say no more. THAT is MY favorite season!
ReplyDeleteLove and lemme lick the cob,

I guess living in an area where it never snows, we really don't have a road construction season! You guys must hates driving right nows....I knows Ma says all kinds of HBO wordies if there is a detour! ☺
ReplyDeleteI hopes your Moms dentist appt. went okays ~ Ma sends her {{hugs}}
Oooooooo ~ Ma wants all of that dinner!!!!! We'll be right overs...
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
We know a lot about construction. We have that particular season here too
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that the hoomans are nevfur finished fixing things? Don't they know that all you have to do is kick a little dirt behind you ad move on?
ReplyDeleteWe don't like road construction either but are so thankful we don't work out there in the Texas heat. I don't see how those construction workers and roofers do it.
ReplyDeleteWe have our share of road construction woes here too. They are calling it The PDX "big fix". It sure makes you think twice about going to town!!
