Greetings friends and fans! This is The Daily Bone and I'm your diligent doggie reporter
Chester L. W. Spaniel.
Look look look lookie look! |
Today was the first day of SUMMER! Yes, you heard it right! Summer has arrived in Western New York. The temperatures were in the 80s. (As you may remember, I reported a few days ago that it was snowing!) To celebrate this change we had our first grilled steak of the season.
Wow! Yummy! |
Flowers are starting to bloom and things are starting to grow.
Daffodils |
Peonies, forget-me-not, and yarrow sprouting |
Hyacinth |
I hesitate to be too overly excited, because things always change around here. Indeed, this evening it's clouding up and thunderstorms are predicted.
But, hey, we'll enjoy it while we can!
I am going to issue a doggie command to summer. STAY!
ReplyDeleteGrilled steak - that IS the first sign of summer! Dad took the day off today using a vacation day and cleaned and put mulch out on all the flower beds (Mom hates gardening - their deal is, she does the cooking and house cleaning and he does the lawn and the cars).
ReplyDeleteThey do look pretty!

OMD, Chester, soon you will have a backyard full of blooms! I hopes the rain isn't too bad...you don't wants those purty flowers to get pummeled!
ReplyDeleteOh, and that steak looked FABulous!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Steak - YUM!
ReplyDeleteSteak! yummmmm We are so happy that pretty flowers are finally blooming for you, Chester!
ReplyDeleteOur flowers are behind but the weather is warm!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy them while you have them.
ReplyDeleteIt sure has been hot the past couple of days.
ReplyDeleteYep, summer was here yesterday - the trees are all in bloom, the grass is green, AND the big boomers have arrived. We had a wild hour last night with sirens blaring. We all ended up in the basement. No damage for us, but lots of power lines and trees down only about a mile from us. We are so thankful to have missed it again.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We are having real spring weather!!!!

Enjoy your early summmer
ReplyDeleteWe are in that new warm season too...and of course the thunderstorms have been rolling through here since last night. There was over an inch of rain. However since the fire threat was severe, the rain was welcome...except now the grass has decided to take a growth spurt.
ReplyDeleteOur weeping cherry tree exploded in pink blossoms, but the rain made it shed much even before petcretary could get a good picture. Sheesh.
Enjoy the warm times, Chester!
Grilled steak and daffodils! I hope you got to taste both of them equally. Yum!
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
It is officially summer once you break out the grill! That dinner looked yummy and your flowers are beautiful.
