Saturdays With Joey Dog

Greetings and good day everyone. This is The Daily Bone and I'm your professional doggie reporter Joseph (Joey dog) Spaniel. We decided that Saturday will be my day for my yum yum food reports, and doggie behavior and employment commentary.

Today ghostwriter went to the local farm market.

There was a ton of fresh fruit and vegetables.

She bought a big pumpkin and some squashes, and brought them into the back yard for a photo session. Being an accomplished and well-behaved doggie model, I naturally did a pose for a perfect picture.

Meanwhile, my skittish colleague Chester L. W. Spaniel was busy sniffing around, and refused to sit nicely for a photo.

In fact, we were worried he might pee on the pumpkin!

So I graciously accepted all the yum yum doggy treats for this photo session. I even found a beautiful Autumn leaf for ghostwriter!

A cold wind began blowing, and it was starting to rain, so we went inside. Look what was on the table! There's going to be some good dinner in this house today!

Hey! Get out of the way Chester! You're photo bombing!

But there's a squeaky toy! I have to have the squeaky toy!

Ghostwriter had to put Witchy-poo on a high shelf …

… so Chester couldn't see her.

He can be such a dork sometimes.

Well, on to the main subject: food! Here we have a delicious grilled sandwich with chicken and swiss cheese, and some lovely sliced tomatoes.

Acorn squash and corn on the cob are ready to cook. There is a little brown sugar, butter, and a sprinkling of nutmeg in the squashes.

And here it is! Naturally I got a sample of everything.

And finally, for our last story, ghostwriter wanted to show everyone the picture she took of the deer that were grazing in the field behind the nursing home last evening.

That's it for now. Good night and food dreams!

  3. What a huge farmer's arket you have in your town!
We have two markets, but they are way smaller.\Good job with your report, Joey!

And those deer must have caused quite a stir for all the residents at the nursing home.
We get deer near growlmy's Nursing home, but they are farther away and way too shy to venture as close as your pair.

  7. Well, JOey, you sure did a pawesome job posing with the pumpkin and squash. We hope you got to taste that yummy-looking steak we see on that plate. Your corn and tomatoes still look as fresh as if it were summer - ours have long disappeared from the market. Hope you and Chester have a fine week ahead. You asked if it was cold here. Well it is definitely cooler than it has been and we are loving it.
